Best laid plans are subject to change
Yesterday was April fools’ and I feel a bit foolish.
Soo many things are closed.
The big race I had planned for last November was postponed, but I was lucky enough to be one of the test pilots who got to run a non public race.
The real race got postponed until sort of now, but a few weeks ago the event was, of course cancelled. The race directors are such great people with a love for extreme endurance events so they gave away gpx files and info about the race course. Cheering for everyone who tried a solo raid of the three different distances.
As foolish as I am I have my aim set for the longest one. The same race I did as test pilot but hey, to do it self-supported is a different beast. It requires a lot of planning and preparation.
Looks like I can make it.
But then again, it’s not about how difficult things are or what’s stopping me, it more about what there is that I can do. Always something.
If not the longest race, can I do the second longest? The sprint version? Where in this case sprint still refers to an Ultramarathon.
Atleast I’ll get to run something.
Even if it probably only will be the shortest Sibirien route.
If I run from our summer house to the start line I’ll get a 10k bonus. Let’s go for that!
